For a wassailing bowl we'll drink to thee

Source notes

More of a laid back tag version of this boisterous carol. Tenors have a nice low melody--be soulful with the slide on 'bowl' and eventually crisscross with the leads towards the end. There's more of a presence of 6's in each chord unlike the renditions we all know, adding to the laid-back feel. Basses, rather than 'too', open up to a toh or tuh or doh for the low E to carry. This rendition can be taken back to a swingy jazz-waltz feel for those who would rather celebrate in a more intimate campfire setting. BUT retain that percussiveness! Percussiveness in the consonants is key!
